Sponsor Oakland
Oakland tells people what their local government did each week, in a short episode made with AI from the public recordings of the meetings. A sponsor's message reaches the people who follow it.
What a sponsor gets
- In the episode: about 20 seconds after the headlines, read by a host: “This episode is sponsored by…”, then what you offer, in 50 words or fewer.
- In writing: a line marked “Sponsored”, with your link, on the episode's page, in its show notes in podcast apps, and in the show's section of the Monday email.
- After your run: a short report of your episodes' downloads, their plays on this site, and the clicks on your link.
Every download is counted in public by OP3: see Oakland's numbers.
Prices
One show, one week
$25
One episode.
One show, one month
$100
4 episodes.
The area, one month
$250
4 episodes of each of the San Francisco Bay Area's shows (Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose), and of Bay Area in 5.
These are founding prices: the first 5 sponsors keep theirs for 12 months. A run counts episodes, not weeks, so a week with no meetings costs you nothing. The read stays in each episode that carried it.
How it works
- Pay with a link above, or write to us, with your business's legal name, its owners, and anything it has on the agendas of the meetings Oakland covers.
- We write your message from your website, in the third person, and send it to you for your OK.
- It airs on the next episode on or after the day you pick.
The rules
Every message says it's paid. The hosts read what you say you offer, never praise of their own: they're AI voices and haven't used anything. The AI that writes and checks each episode is never told who sponsors it. If your business is in a week's meetings, your message sits that episode out, and your run moves on to the next. No political ads. All the rules.
